The Russian aggression against Ukraine has been going on for more than a year. For the Ukrainian climbing community it is another year of struggle to fulfill their dreams and achieve their sporting goals. The Polish Mountaineering Association in cooperation with Skarpa Bytom-Rozbark through the PZA4UA action is trying to raise funds to enable the athletes of the National Team of Ukraine in sport climbing to continue their training, participate in international competitions and secure their basic needs. The action has been awarded the Fair Play distinction of the Polish Olympic Committee.
Who do we help?
The athletes of the National Team of Ukraine in sport climbing, who represent their homeland in three disciplines: bouldering, lead climbing and speed climbing. They train at sports centers in Bytom, Wrocław, Kraków and Tarnów. The war forced them to leave their homes and families, some of the climbing facilities were irretrievably destroyed. The national team is made up of adults, but also underage athletes who are away from their loved ones.
What can you do to help? First of all, make your own donation to the Zrzutka (also a recurring one) and support the Ukrainian climbers. Support can also be made by donating directly to a dedicated account for the campaign IBAN: PL41 1140 2004 0000 3802 8097 6611 BIC/SWIFT: BREXPLPWMBK. Every zloty means helping them to realise their dreams of participating in the next international competitions. It is also funds necessary for climbing equipment, but also for rent, fees and food for climbers staying in Poland.
Your help in promoting the action will also be valuable. You can do this both by sharing the Zrzutka, setting up your own Money Box (Skarbonka) and by liking and following the pza4ua action profiles on social media. Spread the word about the campaign to your family and friends, maybe they will also want to join in! Do you run your own business and are thinking about sponsoring? Become a patron of Ukrainian climbers!
